Summary:

The Wisconsin Association for Environmental Education (WAEE) made “Making EE Relevant at Home, Work, School & Play” at this year’s Annual Conference. Environmental Education is more important than ever, and it is happening everywhere, in peoples homes, at workplaces, in schools and where people play. This year we focused on how to continue to make Environmental Education relevant to our children, co-workers, families and friends.

Highlights:
Keynote Speaker Jordan Howard a 20 year old thought leader at the intersection of sustainability, environmental education, and youth empowerment gave a very energetic presentation. Her message really resonated with the younger conference participants.

Keynote Bob Pederson the President of Goodwill Industries of North Central Wisconsin really impressed the crowd with the great work his company has been doing with sustainability.

Keynote Jerry Apps, th author of more than 30 books and professor Emeritus from UW Madison gave a very entertaining talk. He had the entire audience laughing and reminiscing.

The river boat cruise on the LaCrosse Queen Wednesday night was wonderful and WAEE member Scott Lee provided excellent interpretation of the river and surrounding landscape.

Scott Lee's fieldtrips: Hiking the Bluffs of the Mississippi and Canoeing the Mississippi Backwaters were well attended and great fun for all.

Thank you to Sandy Vander Vel Den, the conference chair, for all your hard work on making this conference such a success.

Thank you to Kelly Smith and Katie Boseo for making the Goodwill Fashion Show a great success.
