Treehaven Endowment
Gifts to an endowment are truly the gift that keeps on giving, as the funds are invested and only the interest generated yearly is used. Our facility provides the perfect mix of land and water to engage all ages through hikes, wildlife tracking, snowshoeing, and a variety of other outdoor experiences. Your contribution to our endowment is a permanent source of funding that builds a lasting legacy of outdoor exploration.
Future "Wish List" Projects Include:
- A larger maple sap evaporator and arch to build our maple syrup program for education programs, food service use, and sales $12,000
- Purchase Radio telemetry equipment and collar for on-site animal research and to be used in school programming. We would work with the UW-Stevens Point CNR Wildlife faculty members to coordinate. $4,500
- Purchase ten interpretive signs on the Treehaven Property to educate visitors on natural resources, property history, and management/research activities on the property. $10,000
- 50% funding to install a solar array on Fern Young cottage and backup Tesla batteries. $15,000
- Sound system and cordless microphone for dining room and bear track lounge. $10,000
- Build a new garden shed/mini-greenhouse/solar panels in the food forest/organic garden. $10,000

Gifts to support Treehaven may be made to the UWSP Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Naming opportunities are available for all or portions of Treehaven structures and facilities.

Completed projects supported by Treehaven Endowment interest since 2016 include:
- Lodging support for the UW-Stevens Point College of Natural Resources student grouse research project at Treehaven.
- Partial purchase of 29 new sets of snowshoes
- Partial purchase of 40 new sets of cross country skis/boots
- Partial support of the new 20 kW 64-panel solar array on Birch lodge – which produces enough electricity to power both Birch and Ed Okray Aspen lodge the entire year
- Fencing and lumber for the new 60-bed organic garden
- Purchase and installation of 3 new water bottle fillers in Vallier, I.L. Young, and Aspen lodges
- Purchase of used G.H. Grimm and Company maple sap evaporator to begin making maple syrup on site
- Purchase of new conference tables for Sylvester Auditorium
- Partial purchase of new conference tables and chairs for Room 200
