Q: How many people can fit in the meeting room?

  • With tables in the room, a maximum of 30 people.
  • Without tables (just chairs set up theater-style), a maximum of 40 people.

Q: What hours is the meeting room available?

  • The meeting room can be reserved during regular visitor center hours, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day (including weekends).

Q: How much does the meeting room cost?

  • A use fee will be charged based on the type of group making the reservation:
  • UW-Stevens Point groups*: Free
  • Local school and youth groups*: Free
  • Nonprofit organizations, community groups, and governmental agencies*: $25 for 3 hours or less, $50 for more than 3 hours
  • For-profit business groups: $50 for 3 hours or less, $100 for more than 3 hours
  • Private events: $50 for 3 hours or less, $100 for more than 3 hours

Q: Do certain groups have priority? Can my group be bumped?

  • In rare circumstances, a meeting may need to be cancelled for Schmeeckle Reserve related events and programs. We will do everything possible to find an alternative meeting space for the group.
  • Q: How far in advance can I make a reservation?

  • Reservations can be made six months out from today's date.

Q: Can we use the Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame for break-out sessions or food service?

  • No, the adjacent Wisconsin Conservation Hall of Fame is public exhibit space and must remain open for visitors.
  • Q: Can we use the back deck for break-out sessions or food service?

  • Yes, the back deck is available for meeting room use. However, it is public space and is used on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Q: What is provided in the meeting room?

  • Padded chairs and moveable tables (set up as requested)
  • Whiteboard and dry erase markers
  • Ceiling-mounted digital projector and large projection screen
  • A/V system with computer, speakers, and VCR/DVD player
  • Laptop connector for A/V system
  • Wireless and wired Internet access (free, no password required)
  • Speaker phone (please request prior to meeting). NOTE: This does not have conferencing capabilities. The speaker phone can dial out to one local or toll-free number... long distance calls are disabled. Groups will need to set up an external conferencing service at a toll-free number to call into.
  • Easel (we do not provide paper or markers)
  • Organic fair-trade coffee and reusable mugs ($5 per 12-cup pot, must be ordered when placing a room request)
  • Composting Bin (for non-meat food scraps)
  • Garbage and recycle cans (near the front door)
  • Drinking water (fountain near the front door)
  • Large windows that open for natural airflow
  • Room-specific thermostat for heating and cooling
  • Extension cords and power strips
  • A variety of snacks and beverages are available for purchase in the gift shop
  • Copies can be made at the front desk ($.10 per page black & white; $.50 per page color)

Q: What is NOT provided in the meeting room?

  • Conference phone system or software (see speaker phone above)
  • Web/conferencing cameras
  • Printers
  • Easel paper or markers (an easel is available)
  • Plates, napkins, eating utensils, condiments, etc.
  • Refrigerator space
  • Catering or food service (see options below)

Q: Can we bring food and beverages in the meeting room? Is alcohol allowed?

  • Groups are welcome to bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the meeting room.
  • Leave the room as clean as you found it. Garbage and recycling cans are located near the front door.
  • NO alcoholic beverages allowed at any time (per university regulations)
  • NO grilling is allowed at any time (per university regulations)

Q: Can we have food delivered or catered in?

Q: Can I smoke at Schmeeckle Reserve? In the parking lot?

  • No. Schmeeckle Reserve is part of UW-Stevens Point's tobacco-free campus. Tobacco products are not allowed inside or outside the meeting room, including the parking lot. Visitors can smoke in the city road right-of-ways (for example, along North Point Drive).
