- All one day programs have a minimum fee of $100 per day.
- All one day programs that choose to pay for lunch have a minimum daily lunch fee of $75.
- Overnight programs have a minimum fee equal to the cost of 20 students. Overnight schools arrive during the morning their first day and leave after lunch on day two.
- As usual there is no programming or lodging charge for teachers or chaperones. We do charge $28.00 per adult to cover meals on the one overnight option and $49.00 per adult for meals on the two night option.
When choosing lessons at CWES, schools pick lessons based upon themes. Depending upon how long your stay is, you may choose lessons within 1-2 themes. Below is a list of themes at CWES. How specific lesson descriptions within themes, please refer to the lesson menu.
Earth Explorers
Excite your students about the environment! Students participate in hands-on and sensory awareness activities that help students in their first explorations of the environment. K-3rd grades
Adaptations
All organisms have their own special adaptations. Students explore traits that help plants and animals survive in their unique environments. K-12th grades
Water Resources
Explore the variety of aquatic environments around CWES. Students study water resources, including pond organisms, lake ecology, and ground water. 7th -12th grades
Outdoor Skill Development
Challenge your students to develop a new outdoor passion. Immerse yourself and your students in the environment around CWES while learning some lifelong skills.4th -12th grades
Human Interactions
Problem solving as a team is an important skill necessary for resolving environmental and everyday issues. Your students will learn to work together and will also gain trust in themselves and others, self-confidence, and self-esteem. 5th -12th grades
Forest Ecosystems Studies
What are the connections between the plants and animals? What about living and non-living things? Learn about these interactions and the human impact in this series of lessons. Utilizing equipment used by natural resource professionals, students will put their math and science skills to work. (Fall only)
Changing of the Land
From Native Americans to Pioneers to Lumberjacks, explore the many cultures that have a rich history on the property at CWES. Students investigate the timeline of Wisconsin History from an environmental angle. 4th -5th grades (Fall only)
Winter Ecology
Explore the changing habitats of Wisconsin and how animals adapt to winter conditions. Participants will examine microclimates, subnivean living, life under the ice, and strategies for survival. 5th – 12th grades (Winter only)
