  News & Events

Sunday, May 18, 2:00 p.m.  Presentation at  Allen F. Blocher Planetarium, "Gods of the Solar System".  Explore history behind the name of significant planetary bodies which have been named after mythic gods or goddess, and take a look at each of these bodies of our solar system.  Free admission, open to the public.  More Here.  

The Blocher Planetarium will be open for school groups through May 29, and presenting public programs beginning June 9.   The planetarium will be closed from June 27 through July 7.   Programs will alternate between "Gods of the Solar System" and "Journey to the Stars" at 8:00 p.m. on Monday evenings with the exception of Jun 30, (closed June 30). 

Mon. Jun 9th thru Aug. 4th, 8:00 p.m.   Allen F. Blocher Planetarium, "Night Sky".  After this program, the Dept. of Physics & Astronomy opens to public, the UWSP Observatory, located on the roof of the Science Building, for a view of the night sky.  If skies are clear, the observatory is also open on Mon., Tues., Wed. through Aug 1st from 8:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.           Contact  Randy Olson.
