James Bukolt - "I recently retired after more than 40 years in the airline industry.  My degree from UWSP in Geography and Economics enhanced my career, including becoming administrator for Eastern Airlines at O’Hare International Airport in Chicago.  I was a participant in the first travel abroad program of UWSP in 1958.  Traveling extensively over the years with my family, this six week tour through Europe proved to be very beneficial.  Geography and Economics helped having a sense of the culture and economic background of cities and regions served by Eastern Airlines, especially the Caribbean and South America.  Budget planning and tracking expenses was also an important part of my activities along with keeping various charts and graphs.  Part of my career was working in Air Cargo.  This was mainly controlling outbound cargo and working with U.S. Customs in clearing inbound international cargo.  This may give future graduates of the College of Letters and Science an idea how a degree will help their future endeavors."
