Program Information

Graduates of the UWSP CIS program can expect to find a wide range of opportunities awaiting them. The CIS curriculum has been designed to assure that graduates can easily move into any of the major areas within the computing profession. Specifically, the CIS curriculum addresses current computing knowledge and practice in the following areas: Systems Analysis and Design, Database Development and Administration, Data Communication and Networking, Application Development.

Students in the UWSP CIS program gain significant experience in all four of these areas. Upon graduation they are well prepared for employment in the field of computing. In addition, students develop other valuable skills by way of the diverse and rich CIS curriculum. These skills include oral and written communications, time management, teamwork, leadership and project management, logical thinking, and problem solving.
