University Child Learning and Care Center Curriculum Summary
Playhouse Group
Alicia Utke
The Playhouse Group children are 3 to 4 years old. This group emphasizes partner and cooperative play to help build and improve social skills. Beginning preschool skills are introduced. An interactive, educationally play-based preschool program is available on a daily basis.
The 3-year-old curriculum reflects creative play with developmentally appropriate practices incorporated into the operations and curriculum of the Center. All curriculum plans are developed around activities for individual and group needs.
Block building, books, painting, art, dramatic play, dress up, large motor, sensory, music, science, and math activities are incorporated into daily routine. Children are given a variety of choices. Self-help skills are encouraged to help develop independence skills. The curriculum reflects the health and safety of each child. All children are learning and socializing in an age appropriate setting.
