2. Main Menu and the Time Delay
The main menu controls the flow of the program with the first five choices
corresponding
to the five different solution environments and the last choice allowing
one to exit from
the program. The time delay setting is zero when the program
is started. The time delay
setting controls the lengths of a pair of nested loops in the parts
of the program that
generate the random walks and is executed before every step of the
random walk. High
settings enable one to watch the random walk while low settings speed
up the walks so
that one can concentrate on the configurational averages. Because
the delay consists of a
pair of loops, doubling the time delay setting will slow the configuration
generation by
about a factor of four.
