Chapter 3 Learning Goals

 

 

Upon completion of the chapter, the student should:

 

·        Be aware that measurements are quantitative

·        Know that measurements in chemistry have error and units

·        Be able to convert between ^oF, ^oC and K.

·        Know the difference between precision and accuracy.

·        Have an understanding of significant figures.

·        Know the basic SI units.

·        Be able to determine the density, mass, or volume of a substance when given two of these three variables.

·        Know density and specific gravity calculations
