America Reads

America Reads is a federally funded campaign to improve reading achievement in K - 6 school children. UWSP work study students are hired as tutors and matched with teachers and classrooms in local school districts. Tutors will work with students 5 - 8 hours per week in reading one-on-one or in small groups. The school districts that are currently contracted to host tutors are: Wisconsin Rapids, Mosinee, DC Everest, and Wausau. More school districts may come on board throughout the summer.
