Be the Change is SERVE's largest volunteer event of the year. Nearly 100 students make a positive difference in the Stevens Point community by volunteering for 2-3 hours on a Saturday morning.
The volunteer day also includes a free breakfast provided by the SERVE office.
In the past, Be the Change has volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army Hope Center, St. Vincent de Paul, Oakridge Senior Living, the Central Wisconsin Children's Museum, Dressed to Work, YMCA, St. Francis Horse Rescue, and many others!

What if I don't have a team? Can I sign up by myself?
Yes! You are not required to have a team. Individual volunteers will be matched with each other and put on a SERVE team!
How do I know which organization I will be volunteering with?
You get to choose! The week before Be the Change, teams will have the chance to pick which organization they want to volunteer with.
Do we need any special skills or tools?
In some instances you will need proper clothing, such as when working outdoors. Any tools you need (trash bags, rubber gloves, etc.) will be supplied by the SERVE Office. The only special skill needed is to understand basic safety measures. Wear the right shoes, bring a jacket, and if you aren't sure how to do something, ask for help!
Do we have to travel for Be the Change?
All the organizations we are volunteering with are in the Stevens Point area. For any organization that is not within walking distance from UWSP, SERVE can provide transportation.
