All students residing on-campus are required to participate in the dining program for the entire academic year. The contract runs per semester. If you do not select one, you will automatically be assigned to the 14+75 plan. Residents of South Hall are exempt from this requirement. Off-campus students can add a meal plan by contacting the Point Card Office in the Dreyfus University Center. Off-Campus students, as well as residents of South hall that are interested in acquiring a meal plan will find their options listed below.

All 2008/2009 meal plans cost $1,016 per term. This covers the cost of meals, as well as utilities, maintenance, administrative costs, and debt retirement. Your meals can be used in three different ways:

Three dining rooms, including salad bar, waffles, grille, vegan & vegetarian options, variety of beverages, menu items from stir fry to Texas pot roast, hamburgers, pizzas and pastas throughout the week, flavorful options and unlimited seconds to offer options for every appetite, special meals throughout the year highlight shrimp, steak and other meals prepared fresh in DeBot; DeBot boasts a fantastic bakery known for its unique and delightful desserts. Current hours of operation and rates per meal are indicated below.

The DeBot C-Store is located in the lower level of the DeBot Dining Center. This location is in the heart of many of the residence halls. The C-Store provides a limited variety of groceries and convenience items. In addition to offering a daily Pointer Plate Special, the C-Store Grill offers made-to-order burgers, wraps, subs, and soft-drink items. The DeBot Convenience Store and Grill accepts Food Dollars, PointCASH, and cash at any time. In addition, you may use one of your meals to purchase the Pointer Special or use a meal cash equivalency or to be applied towards your purchase.
The Dreyfus University Center Food Court accepts Food Dollars, PointCASH, and cash at any time. In addition, you may use one of your meals to purchase the Pointer Special or use a meal cash equivalency or to be applied towards your purchase.
Students who reside in South Hall, or live off-campus, may choose to purchase this plan. The cost is $292 and provides participants with 50 all-you-care-to-eat meals, served in the DeBot Dining Center. You may also use your meals as a MCE (value $4.25) or to purchase the Pointer Special at the DeBot C-Store & Grill or at the DUC Food Court. In addition, these students are eligible to purchase any of the other dining plans listed above for $1,016.

Meals are the total number of meals available for your use between Sunday and Saturday of each full week during the semester.
Meal Period Restrictions apply to the 10, 14 and 20 meal plans. Each day is broken into four meal periods and you are limited to one meal per meal period. Meal periods are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Late Night. Times vary depending on location. You may use up to 2 meals per guest per period as explained below.
Guest Privileges: As a resident diner, you may use the 10, 14, or 20 meal plan for up to 2 meals per meal period to treat accompanying guests at DeBot Dining Center, DeBot C-store & Grill, and the DUC Food Court. Guests’ meals will be deducted from your weekly total. Food Dollars and the 7 meal plan may also be used for guests.
The Pointer Plate Special is a preset meal offered at the DeBot C-Store Grill and the DUC Food Court. You may exchange one meal for the Pointer Plate Special during each of the following meal periods: Monday - Friday 1-3:59pm, 4-6:59pm and nightly 7-10:45pm. Guest privileges may not be used for the Pointer Special.
Meal Cash Equivalency (MCE): You may exchange one meal for cash equivalency for specific food items at the:
Food Dollars are each worth one dollar each. You may use your Food Dollars to make purchases at the DeBot Dining Center, the DeBot C-store & Grill, the DUC Food Court, the Home Grown Café, and the Food for Thought Café. These dollars expire at the end of the semester.
Sack Lunches: If your schedule makes it difficult to eat at DeBot, sack lunches are available at the DeBot Dining Center. To schedule a sack lunch, go to our website pointcard.uwsp.edu at least 72 hours in advance.
Meal Plan Changes: You may change your meal plan without charge until 3 pm the Friday prior to the beginning of the semester. Once the semester begins, there is a charge to change your meal plan. You may see an additional charge or refund on your tuition bill depending on how many Food Dollars you have remaining when your meal plan change is processed. Look for notices at DeBot, in the residence halls and on Student Message of the Day for specific details on how and when you can change your meal plan.
PointCASH is not part of the dining program. Students may use PointCASH to purchase food on campus at DeBot Dining, DeBot C-Store & Grill, the DUC Food Court, the Home Grown, the Food For Thought Cafe and CPS Cafeteria.
