us as we square off with Jack Frost himself! We will travel to Iowa to
climb the now legendary ice silos. These towering corn silos seem just
like any other during the warm months, but come winter they sport some massive
ice formations from top to bottom. These enormous e ice structures are
perfect for ice climbing! We will don crampons and ice axes as we power
up the icy face. After a day of ice climbing we will head indoors to one
of the Midwest’s top climbing gyms at the University of Northern Iowa. Or
if you are all tuckered out you can simply head down the water slide and then
relax in the warm waters of the hot tub. We will be “indoor camping” for
this one of a kind adventure!
Skiing Granite Peak

Need a study break for
an evening? Join Outdoor EdVentures on
the slopes! We will depart from the
Outdoor EdVentures office around 3:15 and make our way up to Granite Peak to
shred some powder! This excursion is all
inclusive. For this price you get: transportation to and from the mountain, lift
ticket (4-9pm), dinner and ski rental!
All this and we will have you back home and thawed out by 10pm!

Spend your Saturday in
the deep powders of Afton Alps! Afton
Alps is one of the premiere ski destinations in the Midwest. With 18 chairlifts and 48 different trails to
ski, the only worry you will have is choosing what trail to take! We will leave early on Saturday and arrive at
Afton as it opens. Ski until your
heart’s content and we will have you back to UWSP around midnight. Afton Alps has trails that range from
relaxing beginner level to white knuckle black diamonds, so whatever your skill
level, come on out and shred some powder with us!
Florida Keys Snorkeling Spring

of blue water and beaches? Then dive in
and spend spring break with OE on this tropical excursion! We will set up our base camp in Key Largo. Once the tents are pitched we will spend the
next 2 days exploring the waters of the upper keys on a pontoon boat. You can snorkel, swim or just soak in the
sun! From there we will visit John
Pennekamp State Park, the nation’s first underwater park. We will board their vessels and let a
seasoned captain take us to the hottest snorkeling locations. We will also be visiting Bahia Honda State
Park, which boasts and enormous white sand beach. Once again we will climb aboard a seaworthy
vessel, this time headed for Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary. From the boat it looks like any other patch
of ocean, but dive below the waves and you will find one of the most beautiful
and expansive coral reefs in the world! Don’t miss out on this spring break
Camping 101, Plover River/Jordan Park

Never been camping before? Want to give it a shot? This is the perfect trip for you! Join Outdoor EdVentures for some
beginner-style camping right in our own backyard! We will head to the Plover River just 15
minutes from campus and put on the river.
From here we will have a nice relaxing few hours of paddling, ending up
in Jordan Park. We will be camping at
one of the beautiful “canoe-in” campsites.
If you have ever wondered what it takes to go camping, all you need to
do is ask! We will put special focus on
the camping basics such as tent set-up, cooking on a backpacking stove and
staying warm in the woods. Already and
experienced camper? Even better! Come share you knowledge and spend a night in
the woods with us!
Namekagon River Weekend

Grab a friend, a paddle
and hop on board for this exciting river adventure! The Namekagon River is one of Wisconsin’s
wild National Scenic Riverways. On this
versatile river you will experience lush green banks and beautiful
sandbars. This river has something for
everyone with some sections of easy paced slow moving water as well as a few
quick moving rapids! Whether you are a
first time paddler or a seasoned river rat, this trip is for you! We will spend the weekend paddling the river
and camping along its banks. Get out
there and enjoy the spring weather!
