Want to sign up for a trip? 

It is easy! 

  1. Decide which of the great trips or clinics that you would like to be a part of.
  2. Come into the Outdoor EdVentures office located on the lower level of the Allen Center.
  3. Pay for your trip and you are offically on board!

Additional trip information:

Overnight trips will have a pre-trip meeting. The date for this meeting will be given to you once you are signed up. The pre-trip meeting will tell you everything you need to know in order to prepare for your adventure. The spring break trip requires a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot (this deposit counts toward the total cost of your trip). The rest of your payment must be made by the time we depart for the trip.

Log Rolling

Date:  Oct. 15 Nov. 5 Dec. 3 @9pm

Price: $8

Outdoor EdVentures now has its own rolling log!  Specially designed for use in our indoor pool, this log makes for an exciting evening!  Come learn the basics and play some lumberjack games with us.  Clinic begins at 9pm.

 

Backcountry Cooking Clinic

Dates:  Nov. 4 @6:00 PM

Price:  $10

Are you a terrible cook?  Have you ever ruined Ramen Noodles?  Never fear Outdoor EdVentures is here to help!  Come on in and learn how to whip up some tasty treats in the backcountry or right in your own backyard.  We will experiment with camp fire, backpacker stoves, Dutch oven and skillet cookin’!

 

Real Life Battleship

Date:  Oct. 13 Nov. 3 and 19 @9pm

Price:  $10 per person (4 person team)

We put the canoes in the pool and pit you against your friends.   Teams of 4 will pile into a canoe armed with only buckets.  Fire buckets of water at other boats and the last boat floating reigns supreme!  Man your “water cannons” and raise your “aqua shields”, it’s going to be a wet ride!​

Backpacking Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore

Date:  October 17-19
**Departs no later than 9 a.m. on the 17th

Price: $120​

There are few things simpler or more peaceful than putting on a pack and heading into the wilderness for a few days.  And there aren’t many better places to do that than Pictured Rocks.  This gorgeous wilderness area boasts towering sandstone cliffs that plunge steeply into the beautiful blue waters of Lake Superior.  We will backpack along the lakeshore for 3 days and 2 nights, culminating in expansive views of the famous Miner’s Castle.  If you are looking for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle, or even if you would like to learn a thing or two about backpacking, this is the trip for you.

Spelunking Mammoth Cave, Kentucky

Date:  Oct. 24-26

Pre-trip meeting:  Oct. 14 @ 6pm OE Office

Price: $140

Dive into an underground world of adventure with Outdoor EdVentures.  On this excursion we will be headed deep under the Earth’s surface at Mammoth Cave National Park.  The Mammoth Cave System is the longest cave system in the world with over 390 miles of explored caverns and tunnels.  We will be embarking on the “Wild Cave Tour”.  This tour will take us through parts of the cave that are hidden from most other visitors.  We will don helmets, kneepads and headlamps and head underground for 6 hours, experiencing tight squeezes and enormous subterranean caverns!  Chest/hip measurements cannot exceed 42” for this tour.  On Sunday you will have the opportunity to either hike, or check out one of the many cave walking tours before we head home.  So steel your nerves and dip below the surface with us!

Climbing Horseshoe Canyon Ranch

Date: Nov. 7-9

Pre-trip meeting:  Oct. 28 @ 6pm OE Office

Price: $165

Come with us on this one-of-a-kind trip to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, nestled in the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Northern Arkansas.  Escape the chill of Wisconsin in November and head south to lay hands on some stone while it’s still warm! Horseshoe Canyon has over 300 routes along with some world class bouldering; this area has been featured in a number of climbing magazines and videos.  We will camp right at the ranch, just a few minutes’ walk from hundreds of climbing routes.  There is also a huge disc golf course here, so please feel free to bring some discs and throw a round if your fingers get tired!  All skill levels welcome.

Paddle the Plover
Price:  $25

Date:  Sept. 20

Fall is the perfect time to explore some of our local waterways.  Let Outdoor EdVentures help you discover this beautiful river.  These short day trips are perfect for those who are looking for a little excitement on a sunny fall afternoon.  All necessary equipment included in cost.

Full Moon X-Country Ski or Snowshoe

Price: $20

Date: Dec. 6 (snow permitting leaves OE @ 7pm)

Join OE as we venture into the night under the light of the full moon!  We will grab some skis and snowshoes and hit the Plover River Trail under the stars.  Afterward OE will provide hot chocolate so you can thaw yourself out!​
