Spring Outdoor Edventure Brochure

Want to sign up for a trip? 

It is easy! 

  1. Decide which of the great trips or clinics that you would like to be a part of.
  2. Come into the Outdoor EdVentures office located on the lower level of the Allen Center.
  3. Pay for your trip and you are offically on board!

Additional trip information:

Overnight trips will have a pre-trip meeting. The date for this meeting will be given to you once you are signed up. The pre-trip meeting will tell you everything you need to know in order to prepare for your adventure. The spring break trip requires a $100 non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot (this deposit counts toward the total cost of your trip). The rest of your payment must be made by the time we depart for the trip.

Real Life Battleship

Date: April 9th

Price:  $10 per person (4 person team)

We put the canoes in the pool and pit you against your friends.   Teams of 4 will pile into a canoe armed with only buckets.  Fire buckets of water at other boats and the last boat floating reigns supreme!  Man your “water cannons” and raise your “aqua shields”, it’s going to be a wet ride!

Logrolling

Date: March 12th April 2nd and 16th @ 8:30pm

Price:  $5

Outdoor EdVentures now has its own rolling log!  Specially designed for use in our indoor pool, this log makes for an exciting evening!  Come learn the basics and play some lumberjack games with us.  Clinic begins at 7pm. 


Survival Fire Starter Making

Date:  April 1st @6pm

Price: $2

Whether you're in the wild or your own backyard, fire starters are great tools to have handy. Join us at Outdoor EdVentures as we create our own fire starters with everyday materials, and of course, a cup of hot cocoa!  One of the OE Outdoorsman, Andrew Sprutta will be showing us the ins and outs of creating a fire starter from scratch!

 

Introduction to Disc Golfing

Date:  May 6th

Price:  Free!

Come learn the beginner elements of the rapidly growing world-wide sport of, Disc Golf.  During this clinic you will learn the difference between disc golf discs, how to select a disc for each shot, throwing styles, rules and etiquette, and scoring. All skill levels welcome. Bring your own discs if you have them. We have a number of discs for you to use.  Come make new friends and let’s have some fun!  Our resident discing expert Chris Sierzega will teach this clinic.

Florida Keys Snorkeling Spring Break
 
Date: March 15th-23rd (Sign-up Deadline March 1st)

Dreaming of blue water and beaches?  Then dive in and spend spring break with OE on this tropical excursion!  We will set up our base camp in Key Largo.  Once the tents are pitched we will spend the next 2 days exploring the waters of the upper keys on a pontoon boat.  You can snorkel, swim or just soak in the sun!  From there we will visit John Pennekamp State Park, the nation’s first underwater park.  We will board their vessels and let a seasoned captain take us to the hottest snorkeling locations.  We will also be visiting Bahia Honda State Park, which boasts and enormous white sand beach.  Once again we will climb aboard a seaworthy vessel, this time headed for Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary.  From the boat it looks like any other patch of ocean, but dive below the waves and you will find one of the most beautiful and expansive coral reefs in the world!  Don’t miss out on this spring break spectacular!

Camping 101, Plover River/Jordan Park

Never been camping before?  Want to give it a shot?  This is the perfect trip for you!  Join Outdoor EdVentures for some beginner-style camping right in our own backyard!  We will head to the Plover River just 15 minutes from campus and put on the river.  From here we will have a nice relaxing few hours of paddling, ending up in Jordan Park.  We will be camping at one of the beautiful “canoe-in” campsites.  If you have ever wondered what it takes to go camping, all you need to do is ask!  We will put special focus on the camping basics such as tent set-up, cooking on a backpacking stove and staying warm in the woods.  Already and experienced camper?  Even better!  Come share you knowledge and spend a night in the woods with us!

Namekagon River Weekend

Date:  May 2nd-4th

Grab a friend, a paddle and hop on board for this exciting river adventure!  The Namekagon River is one of Wisconsin’s wild National Scenic Riverways.  On this versatile river you will experience lush green banks and beautiful sandbars.  This river has something for everyone with some sections of easy paced slow moving water as well as a few quick moving rapids!  Whether you are a first time paddler or a seasoned river rat, this trip is for you!  We will spend the weekend paddling the river and camping along its banks.  Get out there and enjoy the spring weather!

Mini Adventures

Pick an adventure any adventure!  Join us for a quick study break as we explore Point!  Each trip will depart Outdoor EdVentures at 3pm and return by 7pm.  All transportation and equipment is included.  Skis, snowshoes, sleds, bikes…you name it we got it!
