Want to sign up for a trip? It’s easy! Here’s how to do it:
1. Decide which of the great trips or clinics (listed below) that you would like to be a part of.
2. Come into the Outdoor EdVentures office located on the lower level of the Allen Center.
3. Pay for your trip and you are officially on board!

Overnight trips will have a pre-trip meeting. The date for this meeting will be given to you once you are signed up. The pre-trip meeting will tell you everything you need to know in order to prepare for your adventure. The spring break trip requires a 100 dollar non-refundable deposit to reserve your spot (this deposit counts toward the total cost of your trip). The rest of your payment must be made by the time we depart for the trip.
TRIPS
Skiing Granite Peak
February 1st, February 15th, February 29th

Need a study break for an evening? Join Outdoor EdVentures on the slopes! We will depart from OUtdoor EdVentures office around 3:15 and make our way up to Granite Peak to shred some powder! This excursion is all inclusive. FOr this price you get: transportation to and from the mountain, lift ticket (4-9pm), dinner and ski rental! All this and we will have you back home and thawed out by 10pm!
Cross Country Skiing, High Point Village
February 10th - 12th

There are few things more relaxing than spending a weekend cross-country skiing. For this adventure we will be staying in a "ski in, ski out" cabin nestled a long with Timm's Hill Trail. A part of the National Trail System, this trail is groomed for both classic and skate skiing. If skiing isn't your thing you can try your hand at snow shoeing, or if you just can't resist you can always do both! Whatever your preference, this promises to be a winter weekend you won't soon forget!
Canyoneering Zion National Park Spring Break
March 17th - 24th

Experience the majesty of the towering red rock walls inside of Zion Canyon. Southern Utah is home to Zion National Park, one of our nation's most beautiful natural wonders. We will spend 4 nights inside the walls of Zion. Canyoneering is one of the most exciting adventures one can have in the park. It involves repelling over ledges and water falls into the most remote slot canyons of Zion. Few people travel these ancient passageways, but we will have the chance to explore 3 seperate canyons in 3 days of canyoneering excitement! We will also hve the chance to spend the night in Arches National Park, home to the famous Delicate Arch.

Spelunking Mammoth Cave National Park
April 13th - 15th

Dive into the underground world of adventure with Outdoor EdVentures. On this excursion we will be headed deep under the Earth's surface at Mammoth Cave National Park. The Mammoth Cave System is the longest cave system in the world over 390 miles of explored caverns and tunnels. We will embark on the "Wild Cave Tour." This tour will take us through parts of the cave that are hidden from most other visitors. We will don helmets, kneepads and headlamp and head underground for 6 hours, experiencing tight squeezes and enormous subterranean caverns! So steel your nerves and dip below the surface with us!
Arkansas Adventure Programming Conference
April 19th - 22nd
For Students Only Price: $155
This is a must for all Adventure Education minors. This conference will have presentations by students and professionals alike. It will take place at the beautiful Horseshoe Canyon Ranch, a mecca for rock climbers and disc golfers. You will have the opportunity to play disc golf, climb beautiful rock, or canoe. This price includes live music, a chance to watch the "Reel Rock Film Tour," all conference workshops and skills clinics, and a networking dinner. The conference is accepting student proposals for presentations until March 26th. Presenting at an Adventure Conference is something that looks great on a resume. Canoe the Sylvania Wilderness
May 4th - 6th

Get out there and embrace the beautiful spring weather. Sheltered by the surround Ottawa National Forest, the Sylvania Wilderness is a true diamond in the rough. Come spend a weekend in the wild with Outdoor EdVentures. We will camp at some unique campsites, accesible only by canoe. Each day we will paddle this beautiful tract of pristine wilderness, occassionally portaging between lakes to reach camp each evening. If we are lucky, we will eat breakfast while listening to the loons call to each other.

SCUBA Diving, Boone Terre Mines

Snow Shelter Clinic

Join us under the full moon as we learn to out fox the winter chill. We will be learning some of the basic principles of winter shelger building. Hopefully, the end result will be a shelter large enough to house at least 4 survivalists!
April 10th & 17th at 6:00 pm

Ever Wonder how ancient civilizations made fire? The Outdoor EdVentures staff wants to show you how! Sign up for this clinic and learn how to "bust" or create fire with nothing but a few pieces of wood, a bit of string and a rock. You will be able to see how it's done and then try the bow drill yourself.

Want to try your hand at paddling a canoe or kayak? Want to do it for free? Then get on board with one of our demo days! Outdoor EdVentures will bring a trailer full of canoes and kayaks to Lake Joanis for all UWSP students to try and it doesn't cost a dime!
Backcountry Cooking Clinic

Are you a terrible cook? Have you ever ruined Ramen Noodles? Never fear Outdoor EdVentures is here to help! Come on in and learn how to whip up some tasty treats in the backcountry or right in your own backyard. We will experiment with camp fire, backpacker stoves, pudgy pies, Dutch oven, and skillet cookin'!
