CAREER/LIFE PLANNING SERVICES

Career counseling.

WISCareers Internet and Career Visions computer programs.

Career assessment instruments.

Follow-up studies of recent UWSP graduates (tracking employment or continued education.)

JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE

Personalized help in writing resumes and cover letters, and preparing for interviews.

Group presentations on job search topics.

Identifying employers and locating sources of intern and/or career positions.

Electronically register with Career Services for:

Online access to intern and career-level vacancy postings  (updated continuously),

bullet

Recruiting events/interviews,

bullet

Referral to employers seeking candidates for intern and career positions,

bullet

Inclusion in electronic resume books (searchable by employers with our permission.)

CAREER FAIRS

Sponsorship of the following Career Fairs held during the spring semester and information about others throughout the state and country:

Summer Camp/Recreational Job Fair (held on-campus in the University Center),

bullet

Central WI Collegiate Job Fair (held at the Stevens Point Holiday Inn Convention Center),

bullet

Forestry Career Fair (held on-campus in the College of Natural Resources Building),

bullet

Wisconsin Teacher Interview Day (held at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids),

bullet

Wisconsin Educational Recruitment Fair (held in June in Madison) 

OFFICE RESOURCE ROOM

Computers with Internet access available for career/job search applications.

Internship directories, employer directories, employer literature, career development and job search resources, salary surveys.

Graduate/professional school indexes, current graduate catalogs for schools in Wisconsin and surrounding states, study guides and applications for graduate admission exams (GRE, GMAT, LSAT).

Applications for PRAXIS Series Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers (including the National Teacher Exam).

SCHEDULE OF FEES

All fees due at the time service is provided, except for teaching credential requests received by phone:

Career counseling:
   
     Current students & new graduates:  Free
        Alumni (out of school for 12+ mos.):  $20.00/hr

Office registration:
   
     Current students & new graduates:  Free
        Alumni (out of school for 12+ mos.):  $20.00/six months

Teaching credential requests:
   
     $4.00/set

Teaching credential file updating:
   
     $10.00 - $20.00 (contact office for details)

Assessments:
   
     Myers-Briggs Type Indicator:  $2.00
   
     Campbell Interest & Skill Survey:  $10.00
        Holland�s Self-Directed Search (SDS):  $4.00
