NASDAQ National Teaching Awards

The Nasdaq Teaching Awards are designed to advance economic literacy in our nation's high schools by recognizing teachers who are helping students to think, make sound, informed decisions and function well in the economy.  Awards are presented to high school teachers  for their most creative, original and effectual efforts to apply economic content and reasoning skills to:

  • financial markets
  • the capital formation process
  • the investment process (either economic or financial)
  • personal finance
  • entrepreneurship
  • the market economy

Entry deadline July 31

Awards

Twenty Regional Semi-Finalists $1,000  each
Five Regional Winners    $10,000 each
Grand National Winner $25,000  (Which includes his/her $10,000 Regional Award

 

Judging

Judging takes place at the regional level for all qualified applications in each of the fie regions.  Each region will select four regional semi-finalists and one regional winner.  One Grand National winner will be selected from among the five regional winners to receive an additional prize of $15,000.

The regions are:

  • Region 1:  Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont.
  • Region 2:  Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico, South Carolina, Tennessee, U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, West Virginia.
  • Region 3:  Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, Wisconsin.
  • Region 4:  Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah.
  • Region 5:  Alaska, American Samoa, Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming.
