World Population Change: Boom or Bust? On November 11, 2000, the campus radio station at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point broadcast an interview with two professors on the subject of world population change. Professor Robert Enright of the UW-SP department of sociology emphasized the extremely rapid growth of world population in recent decades, while Professor Lawrence Weiser of the UW-SP economics department stressed the significant decrease in fertility rates throughout most countries in the world.
