Who are the Peer Advisers?
squiggle used as asterisk They are usually juniors or seniors majoring in Business Administration, Managerial Accounting or Economics.
squiggle used as asterisk Peer Advisers have a 3.0 or above Grade Point Average, and good communication skills.
squiggle used as asterisk They understand and can convey the information from UW-Stevens Point Timetables and Catalogs and the DBE website to Freshman and Sophomore students.

What do Peer Advisers Do?

squiggle used as asterisk They work in the Advising Center two hours per week, and participate in Group Advising Sessions each semester.
 
squiggle used as asterisk They show students how to find the answers to their questions by using the UW-Stevens Point Catalogs and Timetables and the DBE website.
squiggle used as asterisk They answer students questions regarding UW-Stevens Point's general degree requirements (GDRs).
squiggle used as asterisk They review student's Degree Progress Reports.
squiggle used as asterisk They convey the Division's course requirements (according to the UW-Stevens Point Catalog) to students wishing to graduate with a DBE major.
squiggle used as asterisk They make appropriate referrals when they do not know the answers.
squiggle used as asterisk They maintain confidentiality.
squiggle used as asterisk They have fun meeting and talking with their PEERS!
 
squiggle used as asterisk They can grant permission to Freshman and Sophomore Business Majors to register electronically.

You will receive one credit in Business 499 and a grade for each semester that you work.

You are invited to a Appreciation Dinner each semester that you work.
