2007 Spring Awards Information

(Scholarship, Leadership, Service, Need)

The Division of Business and Economics annually recognizes students majoring in Business Administration, Economics, or Managerial Accounting who have excelled in scholarship and/or provided leadership and service to others.  Monetary awards and/or other forms of recognition are typically given.  Awards for Continuing Students will be in the form of a tuition – payment scholarship applied to UW-SP in the Fall, 2007.

Complete the attached form and return form plus your resume to the Division office, 477 CCC by Wednesday, January 31, 2007.  Your application will be reviewed by the Awards and Recognition Committee and you will be notified by email (please indicate if you do not have an email address and include your mailing address) if you are selected for an award.  Honorees will be invited to receive their awards at the Spring Awards Dinner on April 20, 2007.  Recipients receive a complimentary dinner in addition to the award, and are expected to attend this event.  Monetary amounts of awards range from $500 - $1000 (see http://www.uwsp.edu/finance/interact/scholshp.htm for more information on UWSP scholarships.  Choose the Scholarships Booklet site for information specific to the Division of Business & Economics).

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:

             1.      Major in Business Administration, Economics or Managerial Accounting

 

             2.      Have completed 75 credits total (including 30 credits at UWSP) by January 1, 2007

Ø      completed 18 credits in Business Administration or Accounting major; 15 credits in Economics major. 

                                   (9 credits can be transfer credits)

             3.      Overall GPA of at least 3.25 in all courses taken at UWSP

             4.      GPA of at least 3.25 in your major

             5.      Enrolled for at least 12 credits in Fall 2006 and Spring 2007

                      (Dec. 2006 graduates disregard Spring 2007.)

            6.      A copy of all finalists' Degree Progress Reports will be examined to verify the information provided.
