Mission Statement 

The mission of the Center is to advocate for better and greater school-based economic and personal finance education at the K-12 level; and to educate young people, primarily through well-prepared teachers, so they may become empowered with economic and financial literacy. This is done by offering:

  • Advice to schools on developing, implementing and evaluating economics and financial literacy in the school curriculum

  • Teacher training programs and workshops focusing on specific economic and financial literacy topics and ways to integrate them into the classroom

  • Up-to-date curriculum resource center including elementary and secondary school economics and financial literacy texts and teacher guides

  • Study tours to transition economy and other developing countries where teachers are seeking to improve economic and financial literacy
