The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point School of Business and Economics (SBE) boasts a unique peer advising program that helps set a standard for excellence, pairing students new to SBE with someone who understands the questions and challenges they face.
Our team of peer advisers works with pre-majors awaiting acceptance into the school. Peer advisers satisfy many of the same functions faculty advisers do, providing advice on such things as course load and general degree requirements.
Once accepted into the School of Business and Economics, a student is matched with a faculty adviser who offers them guidance for course selection, possible internship opportunities and insight into what the student can expect after graduation. The formal relationship with the peer adviser stops, but students continue to use the peer advising office as a resource.
