Biography:

I have been an assistant professor at UW Stevens Point since the fall 2009. Before coming to Stevens Point I taught for two years as a Lecturer at UW-Parkside. My education includes a Ph.D. and an MA in economics from UW-Milwaukee, an MA in economics and finance and a BA in business management and economics from the University of Potsdam in Germany. My research is focused on Development Economics, Macroeconomics and Economic Education. I am particularly interested in the relationship between technological change, intellectual property rights and education. I have presented my research at the University of Minnesota, the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Marquette University, the Southern Economic Association Meetings, and at the Midwest Economic Association Meetings. I also have a background in track and field and bobsledding. From 2003-08, I was the throws coach for the track team at UW-Milwaukee. During my career as an athlete I was a member of the Germany national team in track and field and the German national team in bobsledding.
