Hello once again everybody!  And now, the minutes:

- The next meeting will be a cook-out at Iverson Park!  See the bottom of the email for more details.

- The House Geckos are in!  Thank you, Dr. Eiffler for given them to the society!  Julie Ray did a pet of the week on them and provided us all with some vital information on how to care for them, etc.  We gave each person 2 geckos for free.  There may be some left, contact the society if you are interested in obtaining some.

- The aquariums are in!  The costs are:  10 gal = $7.00; 20 L = $23.00;
 40 B = $56.00.  You can pick up your aquarium at the next meeting.  Bring your payment when you pick up your aquarium!!

- There was an education show @ SPASH on Tuesday focusing on the care of reptiles and amphibians.

- The club web page could use some updating regarding club projects, etc.  Talk to Neal if you would like to compose some stuff to put on there.

- The society will be ordering some mudpuppies from a catalog.  They come in groups of three, and we only need one.  If you would like to have a mudpuppy, email the society; they would cost $5.00 each.

- Vivarium update:  The society is considering switching from meal worms to silk worms to cut down on the vivarium food bills.

- Officer Position:  Our current education coordinator, Julie Ray, will be graduating this semester, so the society is looking for a new education coordinator.  If you are looking for a fun position in the club and a great chance to share your knowledge, email the society or talk to Neal about running for the position.

- Herp of the Week was given by Amy, Bird, and Kristy and was all about their independent research on common toads (Bufo americanus)-- comparing populations on mainland Wisconsin versus island populations on Rock Island, Washington Island, etc, to examine the size differences between these populations (the island toads are A LOT bigger!).  Also, the "Bufo Crew" is going back to Door Co. after finals to collect some more toads.  We'll be leaving on Fri., May 12th, and will be out there for 10 days.  We'll be starting on Rock Island on Saturday night, going to Washington Island on Sunday night, and then spend the rest of the time working our way south on the peninsula to collect specimens.  We're looking for people who want to come out to beautiful Door Co. with us to do some herping!  We'll be camping out and the cost will be extremely reasonable!  If you are interested in coming along with us for a day or so and would like some more information, email Amy Pribbernow, Birdie Ball, or Kristy Kleczka.

- NEXT MEETING:
Monday, May 1st (Last meeting of the semester!)
We'll be meeting in front of the vivarium at 5:30 to distribute aquariums and we'll be carpooling over to
Iverson Park at 6:00 pm (or Elise's in case of rain) to
get the party going!!!
We'll have hot dogs, veggie burgers, and burgers there,
but it would be great if you could bring a dish to pass and B.Y.O. B.
Let's send this year out with a bang!  Come and Party!
