Head Coach
Christina Peterson
Christina Peterson
begins her second year as the head coach of UW-Stevens Point women's
cross country and track and field programs during the 2006-07 season
after continuing the program's recent success during her first season
with the Pointers.
Peterson, who competed collegiately at Iowa
State and most recently, was a graduate assistant coach at Division II
Northwest Missouri State, led the Pointers' cross country team to a 10th
place finish at the 2005 NCAA Division III championships and a runner-up
finish in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference during her
first season.
Peterson
also helped several UW-Stevens Point athletes qualify for the NCAA Division III
indoor and outdoor track and field championships during her inaugural season.
A Midland, Mich. native, Peterson earned a
Bachelor of Science in Sport Management from Iowa State in 2003 and
worked one season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Cyclones�
women�s track and field team. She spent the next two seasons as a
graduate assistant track and field coach at Northwest Missouri State
while earning a Master�s Degree in Education. She also teaches
classes in UW-Stevens Point�s Department of Health Exercise, Science and
Athletics. Coach
