Wozniak and Bollig Sweep
Wins at National Duals
Tyler Wozniak and Craig Bollig each
posted three victories, but the UW-Stevens Point wrestling team lost two
of its three matches to Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
opponents at Saturday�s National Duals in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Pointers, ranked 19th in the nation,
opened the day with a 30-13 loss to 17th-ranked Cornell before beating
Simpson 24-15 and falling to ninth-ranked Coe 31-8 in the event that
invites the top 16 teams from last year�s NCAA Division III
championships.
Wozniak had a technical fall against Coe and a
major decision against Simpson at 197 pounds, while Bollig also swept
all three of his matches by decision. Josh Ison added two victories by
decision at 165 pounds.
Eric Bath collected a major decision against
Cornell at 174 pounds, while Jered Kern at 133 pounds and Dennis
Reckelberg at 174 pounds each won by decision against Simpson.
The Pointers are now 9-5 overall for the
season.
