Wozniak's Pin Rallies
Pointers Past Pioneers
Tyler Wozniak recorded a pin at 184 pounds as
the UW-Stevens Point wrestling team rallied for a 20-17 victory over
UW-Platteville to improve to 7-0 overall on Wednesday at Berg Gym.
The Pointers trailed 14-8 through six matches
before Nate Kurszewski won his 174-pound match to pull the Pointers to
within four points. Wozniak then gave the Pointers the lead before Craig
Bollig added a win at 197 pounds for a 20-14 advantage. UW-Platteville
won the heavyweight match, but the Pointers held on for the victory.
Jake Calhoun started the night with a
technical fall at 125 pounds and Mo Malone later added a win at 149
pounds. The Pointers overcame a forfeit for a win for the seventh
straight match.
