Wozniak Wins Title, Pointers

Tyler Wozniak extended his winning streak and
won the 197-pound individual title to lead the UW-Stevens Point
wrestling team to a fifth place finish among 10 teams at Saturday�s
UW-Eau Claire Invitational.
Wozniak beat Wally O�Connor of Augsburg 8-2 in
the finals to improve to 11-0 since moving up from 184 pounds during the
mid-season break. Wozniak, who also posted a 12-0 major decision over
UW-Eau Claire�s Josh Holforty and an 8-2 win over UW-Oshkosh�s Justin
Schmalfeldt, is now 29-4 overall for the season.
Jake Calhoun was the only other UW-Stevens
Point wrestler to place at the meet, taking second at 125 pounds with a
6-2 loss to third-ranked Seth Floodeen of Augsburg in the finals.
Calhoun had a pin against Jamie Rocha of Augsburg in his opening match.
Jake Wozniak also reached the semifinals at
157 pounds with two straight victories to open the day, but then lost
twice and did not place.
UW-Stevens Point totaled
66 points, while
Augsburg won the meet with 197 points. The Auggies are the top-ranked
team in the NCAA Division III and visit Stevens Point for a dual meet on
