Szwet Named WIAC
Wrestler of the Week
UW-Stevens Point sophomore Mitch Szwet has been
named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference wrestler of the
week after posting victories in all three matches during the past week.
Szwet, a Coleman native, defeated returning All-American Jim Swanson of
UW-La Crosse 4-3 on Tuesday and then recorded wins over opponents from
Augsburg and UW-Eau Claire over the weekend. The Pointers, ranked 18th in
the country, went 1-2 with losses to second-ranked Augsburg and
fifth-ranked UW-La Crosse.
Szwet is one of the Pointers� hottest wrestlers
entering this weekend�s conference meet in Eau Claire. He is 7-1 over his
last eight matches and carries a 19-11 record for the season.
