Pointers Take Three of Four Matches at
Olivet

The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team finished 3-1
at Saturday�s Olivet Duals in Olivet, Mich. to open its dual meet season.
The Pointers, ranked 10th in Division III,
opened the day with an 18-16 win over 12th-ranked Lycoming (Pa.). The
Pointers then fell to Olivet 24-15 before closing the day with a 28-15 win
over Baldwin-Wallace (Ohio) and a 37-9 pounding of Mount Union (Ohio).
Junior Tyler Wozniak led the Pointers with a 4-0
record for the day, including one pin and a major decision win. Senior
Joel Burdick and sophomore Mitch Szwet also were 4-0 for the Pointers each
winning three matches and earning a forfeit. Szwet also had one pin.
Freshman Jared Kern finished with three victories.
The Pointers have a week off before traveling to
UW-Oshkosh on Nov. 30. |
