Pointers Use Pins and Forfeits to
Dominate Vikings
UW-Stevens
Point recorded three pins and took advantage of three Lawrence forfeits in
dominating the Vikings 46-3 in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference wrestling dual on Tuesday in Stevens Point.
The Pointers
got pins from Mitch Szwet at 197 pounds, Mike Hayes at heavyweight and
Jered Kern at 125 pounds. UW-Stevens Point, ranked 17th in the NCAA
Division III is now 9-6 overall and 4-0 in the WIAC. Lawrence fell to 1-9
overall and 0-5 in the WIAC.

Stacilauskas posted a major decision win at 174 pounds, beating Lawrence�s
Jon Budi, who had a 22-4 record, by a score of 13-5. Jake Wozniak at 165
pounds and Joel Burdick at 141 pounds registered the Pointers� other
victories.
UW-Stevens
Point�s only loss came despite perhaps the team�s best effort of the match
as Craig Bollig battled the nation�s eighth-ranked 184-pounder Ben Dictus
into the final seconds only to fall 3-1 on a takedown with 10 seconds
left. The takedown was the Vikings� only of the entire match.
