Pointers Get Past Muskies For Dual Meet
Victory
Mike Hayes recorded a pin at

over Lakeland on Thursday at Berg Gym.
Hayes, the nation's
fourth-ranked heavyweight, pinned Mark Vanden Hoogen in 6:02 for the
team's lone pin as UW-Stevens Point won six of the 10 matches in the
victory.
The Pointers had a pair of
dramatic wins to open and close the match as Wayne Reis had an escape at
the final buzzer to win the opening match 3-2 at 165 pounds and Chris
Brown had a takedown with 15 seconds left for a 5-3 win at 157 pounds.
Jered Kern was awarded a stalling point in the final seconds to force
overtime in his 125-pound match, but Lakeland's David Copp recorded a
takedown early in the sudden victory period for the win.
Other winners for the
Pointers were Tyler Wozniak at 184 pounds, Joel Burdick at 141 pounds and
Jon Burdick at 149 pounds.
UW-Stevens Point, ranked
