Pointers Post Big Wins to Roll Past

UW-Stevens Point won four matches by major
decision and another by technical fall in rolling past UW-Eau Claire 33-10
in the Pointers� final regular season wrestling match on Saturday in Eau
Claire.
Kyle Mueller had the technical fall victory with
an 18-1 triumph at 149 pounds. Major decision wins were posted by Joel
Burdick at 141 pounds, Chris Brown at 157 pounds, Al Stacilauskas at 174
pounds and Mike Hayes at heavyweight.
Other winners by decision were Craig Bollig at
184 pounds and Mitch Szwet at 197 pounds. Jake Calhoun won by forfeit at
125 pounds.
The Pointers complete the dual meet season with
a 10-8 overall record and 5-1 mark in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic
Conference matches. They will be back in Eau Claire on Sunday, Feb.19 for
the WIAC championships.
