KENOSHA - The University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point wrestling team was dealt a 36-9 loss at UW-Parkside on Thursday.
With the loss, the Pointers - ranked eighth in the latest NCAA Division
III poll - dropped to 5-2 overall.
Brady Holtz gave UWSP an early lead with his 4-0 decision over Matt Jacobs
at 133 points. However, they were unable to stay on the winning track as
the Rangers' Brad Russell eked out a 6-4 decision over Jared Escala at 141
pounds.
UWSP's other win came in a forfeit at 125 pounds for David Davila.
The Pointers are back in action Saturday when they host UW-Whitewater. The
match will start at 3 p.m. in Berg Gym. |
