Wartburg 35, UW-Stevens Point 3

     Cody Koenig posted a victory at 165 pounds for the lone victory as the UW-Stevens Point wrestling team lost to No. 2 ranked Wartburg 35-3 Friday at Berg Gym.

     The Pointers, who are ranked 23rd in the NCAA Division III, fell to 0-3 overall with all three losses coming to other ranked teams, including two losses to the top three teams in the country.

     Koenig, a freshman, defeated Wartburg�s Nathan Specht 10-4 for the Pointers� victory. UW-Stevens Point also received an solid performance from freshman Justin Geitner at 149 pounds, battling Wartburg�s Tony Ganas, who is ranked sixth in the country, to a 4-1 loss.

     The Knights are now 5-0 overall and won their third straight over the Pointers by a similar score, having beaten UW-Stevens Point 34-3 the past two seasons.
