Idalski Runner-Up
for NCAA Division III Women�s Hockey Coach of the Year
UW-Stevens Point women�s hockey coach Brian
Idalski was one of two runners-up for the American Hockey Coaches
Association NCAA Division III Coach of the Year award.
Idalski led the Pointers to their second Division III women�s Frozen Four
appearance in three years and a 21-5-4 overall record. He guided a team of
17 players that included eight freshmen and five sophomores to their second
straight Northern Collegiate Hockey Association regular season title and
third straight league playoff crown. The Pointers placed third at the Frozen
Four, beating Gustavus Adolphus 2-0 in the national third place game.
Kevin
Houle of national runner-up Plattsburgh State (N.Y.), which handed the
Pointers two of their five losses, was the National Coach of the Year.
Idalski shared runner-up honors with Middlebury (Vt.) coach Bill Mandigo,
who led the Panthers to their third straight national title. |
