Maus Earns
Honorable Mention All-America Laurels
The honors continue to roll in for UW-Stevens
Point junior middle hitter Shelly Maus, who was recently named an
honorable mention All-America choice by the American Volleyball Coaches
Association.
Already a first-team all-conference and all-region performer, Maus
earned the awards after leading the Pointers a fourth place finish in
the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and their best record
since 1995 at 24-12.
Maus, who attended Green Bay Southwest High
School, led the WIAC and ranked sixth in the NCAA Division III with 207
blocks for an average of 1.64 per game. She was also third in the league
with a .354 hitting percentage and ranked eighth in the conference with
440 kills. Maus became just the fourth player in school history to reach
1,000 career kills and currently ranks second on the school�s all-time
list with 1,211 over her three seasons.
