Pointers Avenge One Heartbreaker,
Suffer Another The UW-Stevens Point
volleyball team avenged one heartbreaking loss from earlier in the
season, but suffered another later in the day as the Pointers split a
pair of matches at the Bethel Triangular on Friday in St. Paul, Minn.
UW-Stevens Point opened the day by beating
Wartburg (Iowa) 30-23, 20-30, 30-21, 30-23, avenging a five-game loss to
the Knights on Sept. 16 that saw Wartburg win the fifth game 15-13.
However, the Pointers had the same fate in their second match, dropping
a 29-31, 30-22, 24-30, 30-26, 15-13 decision to Bethel.
UW-Stevens Point is now 21-11 overall and
hosts UW-La Crosse in its final conference match of the season on
Wednesday at 7 p.m. |
