Pointers Edge UW-Superior for Conference Win
UW-Stevens Point scored the final three points of the match to rally for
a five-game win at UW-Superior Friday night in WIAC volleyball action.
The Pointers got
consecutive kills from Shelly Maus, Nichole Stahovich and Katie
Stephenson to fight off a match point and pull out a 17-15 win in the
fifth game. UW-Stevens Point won the first game 30-16 and the third game
30-19, while UW-Superior took the second game 32-30 and the fourth game
30-21.
Stahovich had 13 kills
and 31 digs for the Pointers, while Maus added 16 kills and eight
blocks. Toni Johnson amassed 60 assists, 29 digs and seven blocks.
The Pointers are now 9-3
overall and play at UW-Eau Claire on Saturday. |
