Volleyball Team Captures Ripon Tournament
Title
Shelly Maus had 15 kills in each match
as the UW-Stevens Point volleyball team posted a pair of victories on
Saturday to capture the Ripon Tournament title.
The Pointers defeated Rockford 21-30,
30-24, 30-25, 30-21 and then topped Ripon 30-26, 33-31, 28-30, 30-26 to
improve to 4-0 for the season. On Friday, UW-Stevens Point beat
Milwaukee School of Engineering 30-12, 30-24, 26-30, 30-13 and Beloit
30-20, 23-30, 30-18, 23-30, 15-10.
Courtney Ludwig added 14 kills in each of
Saturday's wins. Toni Johnson added 45 assists and 15 digs against
Rockford and 54 assists and 16 digs against Ripon. Lori Marten totaled
26 digs in the win over Rockford and 28 digs against Ripon.
Against MSOE, Nichole Stahovich tallied 13
kills and Maus added 12 kills. Stahovich amassed 19 kills and Johnson
had 44 assists and 17 digs in the victory over Beloit. Marten had 27
digs against MSOE and 29 digs against Beloit. |
