Head Coach
Ann Munzenmaier
Ann Munzenmaier, who
starred on St. Mary�s University�s 2000 NCAA Division III championship
team, begins her third season as the head softball coach at the University
of Wisconsin-Stevens Point during the 2007 season.
Munzenmaier has led the Pointers to a 50-31-1 record in her first two
seasons. The squad went 24-16-1 in 2006 after a 26-15 record in her first season as the
team placed third in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference
regular season and tournament. The win totals were both UW-Stevens Point's most
since 2000 and gave the Pointers 13 consecutive 20-win seasons.
Munzenmaier spent the
previous two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Minnesota State
University-Mankato. She is a full-time staff member at UW-Stevens
Point and teaches in the department of Health, Exercise Science and
Athletics.
During Munzenmaier�s
four-year collegiate career, St. Mary�s posted a 141-33 record, including
a 40-6 mark during her sophomore year in 2000 when the Cardinals won the
national championship. Munzenmaier was a three-year starter as a
leftfielder and leadoff hitter, batting .400 during the championship
season. The Cardinals placed fourth at nationals in 2001.
An Urbandale, Iowa native,
Munzenmaier played for one of the state�s most successful prep softball
programs and also returned during the summer as an assistant coach during
the 1999 and 2000 seasons.
