Soccer Match With St. Thomas Canceled Due to Snow
After a record-setting snowfall of over four inches
on Monday in Stevens Point, Tuesday�s non-conference women�s soccer
match between UW-Stevens Point and St. Thomas has been canceled.
The match was originally scheduled for Tuesday, Oct.
22 at
3:30 p.m. at the Pointer Soccer Bowl and will not be rescheduled. A heavy,
wet snow fell for much of the day on Monday and temperatures are expected
to remain in the 30�s on Tuesday, forcing the cancellation.
UW-Stevens Point is currently 12-0-2 overall and has
two matches remaining in the regular season. The Pointers host
UW-Platteville Saturday at 2 p.m. and travel to Edgewood on Tues., Oct. 29
at 7 p.m.
UW-Stevens Point will also host the Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament beginning Tues., Nov. 5.
