Players of the Week March 20th � March 26th

Baseball � Position Player 

Jake Frombach (Stratford, WI) � The senior slugger recorded a team-high 17 hits and a team-high 10 runs, as the Pointers got off to a 4-5 start during their spring break trip to Port Charlotte, FL.  Frombach had a three-for-five performance against Hope College, Mich., earning two runs and picking up one run batted in for the Pointers.  For the week, Frombach hit .472 with one double and getting four runs batted in. 

Baseball - Pitcher

Jeff Zielke (Watertown, WI) - The freshman right-hander got his first collegiate start against Western Connecticut State and retired 16 of the last 17 batters and got 10 strikeouts in the debut.  Zielke also recorded his first career save in the Pointers 16-11 win over Hope College, Mich. by pitching two scoreless innings to end the game.  For the week, Zielke was 1-0 on the mound, giving up seven hits and two runs, and striking out 11 in nine innings pitched.  The Pointers are 4-5 overall.

Softball � Position Player

Laura VanAbel (Kaukauna, WI) - The sophomore slugger led the Pointers to an 8-2 record in their spring break trip to Kissimmee, FL.  VanAbel had a team-high 17 hits, including a three-for-three performance against Baptist Bible.  For the week, VanAbel hit .486 with one double and two triples.  She scored a team-high 11 runs and picked up nine runs batted in.

Softball - Pitcher

Ashley Tobalsky (Kenosha, WI/Tremper) � The freshman pitcher led the Pointers to an 8-2 record in their spring break trip to Kissimmee, FL.  Tobalsky earned the first save of her career in the Pointers� last game of the trip against Washington and Jefferson, striking out six batters, including the game-ending out when Washington and Jefferson loaded the bases in the final inning.  For the week, Tobalsky went 4-1 on the mound, giving up 28 hits and striking out 33 batters in 35 innings of work.
