Molitor Named WIAC Baseball Player of the Week

     UW-Stevens Point senior third baseman Paul Molitor has been named the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference baseball position Player of the Week after a torrid weekend as the Pointers swept four games in Illinois and Indiana.

     Molitor, a Reedsburg native, hit .684 (13-for-19) over the four games as the Pointers swept Greenville (Ill.) and took single games from Albion (Mich.) and Rose-Hulman (Ind.). Molitor had two home runs, three doubles and 10 RBI�s.

     The Pointers are now 6-1 overall and ranked 27th in the latest NCAA Division III rankings. Molitor has had hits in each of the seven games and is hitting .485 for the season.

     UW-Stevens Point has its home opener Saturday at 1 p.m. with a doubleheader against St. Norbert. The first game will be seven innings, followed by a nine-inning contest.
