� Position Player
Jon Jagler (Wausau, WI/West) � The
junior infielder batted .523 in the WIAC tournament to help the Pointers
claim the WIAC Tournament Championship. Jagler had eight hits in 14 at-bats
on Saturday as the Pointers won three straight games. For the tournament
Jagler was 11-for-21 with three runs scored and four RBIs.
Baseball
� Pitcher
Bill Verbrick (Appleton, WI/Xavier)
� The
junior right-hander picked up a win and two saves to help the Pointers win
the WIAC Tournament Championship. Verbrick fired a complete game, four-hit,
shutout 1-0 over UW-Whitewater in the tournament opener on Friday. On
Saturday, Verbrick got the final out of a 5-4 win over UW-Oshkosh, and then
pitched the ninth inning in a 3-1 championship game victory over the Titans.
Softball
Carrie Hermsen (Oconto, WI/Oconto) �
The sophomore infielder batted .500 in two games at the NCAA III Regional
Tournament in Waverly, Iowa. Hermsen went two-for-two with a double against
Marian College.
Against St. Thomas Hermsen drove in the Pointers� only run with a single
in the sixth inning.
