Randy Reed (Appleton, WI/East) �
The junior
outfielder had a hit in every game this week, a game winning grand slam and
broke UWSP�s record for triples in a single season. Reed hit a grand slam
in the fourth inning to lead the Pointers to a 7-6 win over Edgewood
College. Against UW-Platteville Reed hit his fourth triple of the season to
break the record. For the week, Reed batted .381 with three home runs, a
double, a triple, eight RBI and three stolen bases.

� Pitcher
Jeremy Mueller (Waukesha, WI/Kettle
Moraine) � The
freshman right-hander recorded a win and a save this week. Mueller defeated
Edgewood College giving up just two earned runs in six innings pitched. He
also picked up a save by pitching three scoreless innings against
UW-Platteville. For the week, Mueller gave up two earned runs on 11 hits,
struck eight and walked just four.
Softball
Karen Guckenberger (South
Milwaukee, WI/South Milwaukee) � In just her second season, the
sophomore pitcher broke the UWSP career strikeout record. Guckenberger went
3-0 this week and picked up two saves as the Pointers won all six games
played. She gave up just two earned runs on six hits, struck out 19 and
walked six in 22 innings of work. Opponents batted .091 against her this
week.
Men�s
Track Events
Craig Gunderson (Waupaca,
WI) � The
junior participated in four relays that all placed at the Drake Relays in
Iowa. Gunderson was on the 4 x 100 meter relay, the 4 x 400 meter relay, the
sprint medley relay and the distance medley relay.
Men�s
Field Events
Luke Hilgers (Nekoosa, WI) � The
junior won hammer throw and placed second in the shot put at the Blugold
Invitational in Eau Claire. Hilgers hammer throw of 55.80 meters (183�
1��) broke the Simpson Field record and automatically qualified him for
the NCAA III Championships. He also provisionally qualified for the NCAA
Championships in the shot put with a distance of 15.55 meters (51� ���).
Women�s
Track Events
Leah Juno (Brillion, WI/Brillion) � The
senior placed 10th in the 800 meters at the prestigious Drake Relays.
Juno�s time of 2:10.49 broke UWSP�s school record. She entered the meet
ranked #1 in the 800 meters on the national honor roll and improved that
time by two seconds. Her time this weekend was faster than her winning time
at last year�s NCAA III Outdoor national championships.
Women�s
Field Events
Lindsey Fowler (Verona, WI/Verona) �
The sophomore continues to improve each week. She achieved a fifth in the
hammer throw and a sixth place finish in the discus at the UW-La Crosse
Classic. Her throws of 40.52 meters (132� 11��) in the hammer and
39.42 meters (129� 4��) in the discus were both personal records.
