Eric Bennett (Madison, WI/Memorial)
� The
senior catcher had a game-winning RBI single to center field in the bottom
of the 10th inning to defeat 11th-ranked UW-Stout on Friday. Bennett also
broke open a game against UW-Superior with a third inning grand slam home
run. For the week, Bennett batted .400 with two home runs and seven RBI�s.
Baseball
� Pitcher
Bill Verbrick (Appleton, WI/Xavier)
� The
junior right-hander pitched a 10 inning complete game to get a win over
UW-Stout 6-5. Verbrick allowed four earned runs and struck out 13 Blue Devil
batters, the second highest single game strikeout total in UW-Stevens Point
history.
Softball
Kelly Rutta (Stevens Point, WI/Pacelli)
� The
senior second baseman hit her seventh triple of the season, tying the
UW-Stevens Point single season record. For the week, Rutta batted .467 with
a double, a triple, a stolen base, four runs scored and an RBI.
Men�s
Track Events
Eric Miller (Green Bay, WI) � The
junior won the 200 meters at the Meet of Champions in Rock Island, IL.
Miller won the event in a time of :21.85. Miller placed second in the 100
meters with a time of :10.73, provisionally qualifying for the NCAA III
Championships. Miller also anchored the winning 4 x 400-meter relay team.

Field Events
Jeremy Rolfs (Wild Rose, WI/Wild
Rose) � The
sophomore won the discus at the Meet of Champions in Rock Island, IL. Rolfs
throw of 48.94 meters (160� 7��) was good enough to provisionally
qualify for the NCAA III Championships. Rolfs also placed seventh in the
javelin.
Women�s
Track Events
Leah Juno (Brillion, WI/Brillion) � The
senior set another school record by winning the 1,500 meters at the
Augustana Invitational. Juno won the race in 4:35.84 making her an automatic
qualifier for the NCAA Division III Championships. Juno�s time is also the
fastest in the country this year.
Women�s
Field Events
Becky Clarke (Antioch, IL) � The
freshman placed third in the javelin at the Augustana Invitational last
weekend. Clarke�s toss of 37.00 meters (121� 5��) was a meter and a
half further than the best throw on last week�s WIAC honor roll. Clarke
also placed third in the 100-meter hurdles, fourth in the 400 meter hurdles,
and participated on two third place relays.
