Players of the Week – Apr. 10 Softball (Position Player) Michelle Gerber (Kenosha, WI) - The senior catcher was named to the All-Tournament Team as UW-Stevens Point won the championship at the UW-Stout Invitational. Gerber batted five-for-14 for the weekend with four runs scored, three runs batted in, a pair of doubles, and a stolen base. Softball (Pitcher) Karen Guckenberger (South Milwaukee, WI/South Milwaukee) - The freshman pitcher threw two complete game wins including the championship game against UW-Platteville at the UW-Stout Invitational. In 15 innings pitched Guckenberger gave up only three earned runs on nine hits. She struck out 10 batters while walking just one. Women's Track Events Becky Lebak (Burlington, WI) - The freshman runner won the 1,500 meter event at the UW-Oshkosh Invitational in Oshkosh. Lebak won the race in a time of 4:49.12. Women's Field Events Megan Lundahl (Sturgeon Bay, WI) - The sophomore thrower turned in three performances in the top six at the Oshkosh Invitational. Her best finish was third place in the hammer throw, with a toss of 143' 9" (43.96m). Lundahl also placed fourth in the discus with a mark of 120' 7" (36.76m), and sixth in the javelin with a throw of 101' 4" (30.90m) |
