Players of the Week – Mar. 20 Baseball (Position Player) Pat McCann (Antigo, WI/Antigo) - The sophomore shortstop went 16-for-32 with four doubles, two home runs, 15 RBI's and eight runs scored at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, FL. He had hits in each of the first 10 games of the trip. Baseball (Pitcher) Troy Bielmeier (Wautoma, WI/Wautoma) - The junior right-hander went 2-0 with shutouts over Illinois College and Rhode Island College at the Gene Cusic Classic in Fort Myers, FL. In 13 innings, Bielmeier allowed no runs, 7 hits and one walk, while striking out 10. Fastpitch (Pitcher) Karen Guckenberger (South Milwaukee, WI/South Milwaukee) - The freshman pitcher made her collegiate debut a memorable one. Guckenberger struck out 13 batters and gave up just three hits in a win over Georgetown College (KY). She also picked up two more wins in relief and battled Wheaton College (MA) to an eight inning scoreless tie. For the week, Guckenberger was 3-0 with 25 strikeouts and only seven hits allowed in 22 innings. |
