UW-Stevens Point advances to NCAA Division III World Series

UW-Stevens Point Wins Twice on Saturday to Clinch
NCAA Division III World Series Berth
UW-Stevens Point's Chuck Brehm hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the eighth inning and Jordan Zimmermann struck out a school record 15 batters as the Pointers advanced to the NCAA Division III World Series for the first time since 1997 with a 6-4 win over Ripon on Saturday in Wisconsin Rapids.

UW-Stevens Point, which has now won nine straight games when facing elimination, also won the opening game 7-4 to improve to 34-16 for the season. The Pointers will face Marietta (Ohio) on Friday at 7:45 p.m. at Fox Cities Stadium.
